St. Philip Neri and St. Stanislaus Koska

St Philip Neri is called the Second Apostle of Rome. He developed his unique vocation while serving the marginalized communities on the streets of Rome. His original, cheerful and even eccentric manner was very successful at saving souls. Ordained at 36, he is the founder of the Oratorians and is known for encouraging sacred musical forms and starting the tradition of the Seven Churches Walk.

Saint Stanislaus Kostka was a young Polish nobleman sent to Vienna to study with his two brothers. Distinguished for his amiability and piety, he determined to enter the Jesuits and was directed to walk 400 miles to Augsburg, Germany to apply as a novice. During his ten months as a novice he was a model and mirror of religious perfection. He foresaw his death and in a letter composed to the Blessed Virgin asked her to bring him to heaven on the feast of the Assumption, a prayer which she graciously answered.
