Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen offers a narrative of Christ’s request in the Garden of Gethsemane. In this eloquent narrative Sheen sheds new light upon the spiritual riches received by answering Christ’s request “Watch one hour with Me.” He laments the decline in the love of the Eucharist. He exhorts priests to center their lives in Christ in the Eucharist. Priests have a deeper mission than “ministry”: saving souls. He proposes the Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration. Our Lord asked only one thing from His priests: Could you not watch one hour with me?
