3 – The Peace and Joy of Being Catholic in Good Times and in Bad

Father Kenneth Baker, S.J., describes how the peace and joy that comes from being a part of the Church can overcome the distressing crisis we are living through. The greatest gift we have in this life is to be a member of the Catholic Church, which is the Mystical Body of Christ. If we remain faithful, avoid all mortal sin in thought, word, and deed, and live a life of love of God and neighbor, we have certainty about our eternal salvation and eternal happiness which we all basically desire deep down. This certainty, in good times and in bad, gives us peace of mind and a joyful heart, because we know who we are and where we are going. I have seen this peace and joy on the faces of many devout priests, nuns, and lay people. Monterey, CA, 2014.
