Blessed Louise of Savoy was a member of the French royal family who became a Poor Clare nun after her husband died when she was 27. Serious about the spiritual life from a young age, she used her vast wealth to meet the needs of the poor. As a nun she was a model of humility and obedience until she died at age 42.
