For Paul, the Gospel is the power of God for salvation for everyone who has faith. Under the power of sin and death, man found himself in a predicament from which he could not free himself. But God graciously justified man through Christ. The redeemed now live in the community of the Church where, empowered by the Spirit, they lead a morally good life, as they wait for the fullness of their redemption that will occur at the general resurrection of the dead.
