St. Clare of Assisi

St. Clare of Assisi was a early follower of St Francis, who inspired by his example, founded the Order of Poor Clares. Her family was greatly opposed to her vocation and only relented when they saw she he had cut off all her hair. She was a humble abbess who took on the most tedious tasks and sought to imitate Francis so closely that she became known as “another Francis.”
