St. Pius X

Pope Saint Pius X was pope from 1903-1914 and is know for his firm demeanour, sense of personal poverty, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He is famous for his vigorous condemnation of Modernism, lowering the age for First Communion, preparing the 1917 Code of Canon Law, and promoting liturgical reforms and Thomistic scholastic theology.
