St. Regina and St. Peregrine

St. Regina was virgin martyr born in Autun France in the third century. She was baptized by her foster nurse and was a shepherdess who came to the attention of a Roman procounsul whom she refused to renounce her faith to marry. She was tortured and beheaded. St. Peregrine, born in 1260, repented of participation in a riot against a holy preacher and later joined the Servites and grew in holiness and as a preacher, and became known for miracles and giving good counsel. At 60 he developed a serious leg infection and was healed miraculously the night before the planned amputation of his leg. He is the patron saint of cancer patients.
