The Blessed Virgin Mary

Archbishop Fulton Sheen speaks about the Blessed Virgin Mary as “Mother of the Church.” On October 23, 1963 Pope Paul VI sent a letter to the Fathers of the Second Vatican Council asking if they would be willing to put a treatise on the Blessed Mother into the tract on the Church. The Council decided that it would and around November 12, 1964, Paul VI and the Council gave the new title “Mother of the Church” to the Blessed Virgin.
