Dr. William Marra presents the Saints for us to emulate as our heroes. Each age has a image of it’s heroes – from the earliest times it was a warrior – a man of courage and strength – then athletes. In the middle ages the heroic ideal was the Saint, and in the Renaissance it was a genius in the arts and sciences and later it was the captains of industry. Today’s “heroes” are celebrities and anti-heroes. Young hearts aspire to high ideals and the saints are the only heroes who are a worthy goal for their hearts to emulate.
