Submissions
The Latin Mass: The Journal of Catholic Culture and Tradition exists to foster an abiding love for the Mass, to honor Catholic culture and tradition and to defend the Faith. We welcome articles that consider universal Catholic questions and faithfully adhere to Church teaching and tradition. While The Latin Mass: The Journal of Catholic Culture and Tradition magazine is not strictly academic in scope, we aim to publish pieces that are written in a scholarly style.
Submission Guidelines
Short articles should be close to 1,500 words and long articles should be around 3,000 words. Submissions longer than 3000 words are not encouraged but may be published if of sufficient merit and interest. All articles and book reviews are published on a case-by-case basis after consultation with the editorial staff. To credit scholarly or relevant works, please use endnotes only. All submissions should be sent as a Microsoft Word document. Submissions will be reviewed by the editorial staff and may be subject to revision for grammar, content, style and brevity. It is not our policy to return edited articles to authors for final approval; however, articles may be returned to authors if extensive revisions are required. Generally, all submissions should be original to The Latin Mass: The Journal of Catholic Culture and Tradition. Upon publication, The Latin Mass: The Journal of Catholic Culture and Tradition retains the right to reprint articles and book reviews. Articles will be considered for publication if they adhere to the following guidelines:1) Instructive, elucidate Catholic principles and inspire greater fervor for Christ among persons in the lay and religious vocations. To know the Faith is to love the Faith. 2) Scholarly, propose well-defined ideas with direct language and contribute original and substantive insights on topics relevant to Catholics everywhere. 3) Faithful, adhere to Church teaching and tradition with humility and reverence.Articles for submission can also be submitted via email to: mary“αt”keepthefaith.org and mmaranski“αt”yahoo.com *New contributors only, please include a short bio/byline and headshot. 1) Please make all notes/citations END NOTES, not FOOTNOTES. 2) Make all url citations into END NOTES – please don’t put them in the text of the article. 3) Please use the following format when citing articles/documents or other sources from the internet:Last, First M. “Article Title.” Website Title. Website Publisher, Date Month Year Published. Retrieved Date Month Year from URL.
